Questions
Do I need a credit card for Mapbox?
Not to sign up. Mapbox says sign-up without a card gives trial usage limits. Adding a payment method gives the regular free tier and pay-as-you-go billing.
Can I cap my Mapbox bill?
Mapbox says it doesn’t offer a cap on monthly billing. Its usage notifications warn you but never pause the service. DoMaps pauses the map at your plan’s limit and never charges for usage past it.
Is DoMaps built on Mapbox?
No. DoMaps uses MapLibre, OpenStreetMap data and tiles from OpenFreeMap. It needs no Mapbox account or token.
